On the afternoon of July 14, 2021, shortly after the "7.12" heavy rainfall, Sui Zhenjiang, vice mayor of Beijing, led a team to visit the site of Longtan West Lake storage project to investigate the construction situation and actual effect of the project. Personnel from the Municipal Water Affairs Bureau, Dongcheng District, Chaoyang District and other relevant departments attended the inspection. Qin Shengyi, chairman of Beijing Renchuang technology group, as the technical support and specific implementation unit of the project, also attended the inspection.

Chairman Qin Shengyi introduced the construction situation of Longtan West Lake project and its practical application effect in the heavy rainfall to Vice Mayor Sui and his party, and conducted on-site sampling and water quality comparison of inflow and outflow. In the process of "7.12" heavy rainfall, the newly built Longtan West Lake regulation and storage project played an important role in flood prevention, with a total water storage of 53000 cubic meters, playing a key role in eliminating urban waterlogging in surrounding areas. After purification, the water quality of rainwater collected by Longtan West Lake regulation and storage project has been significantly improved. In a week, SS concentration decreased by 80%, total phosphorus decreased by 62%, COD and ammonia, nitrogen pollutant content also decreased significantly.

Vice Mayor Sui Zhenjiang listened carefully to the introduction of chairman Qin Shengyi, carefully observed the water quality of inflow and outflow, and raised various questions from time to time. Vice Mayor Sui fully affirmed the effect of water storage, waterlogging prevention and water purification of Longtan West Lake regulation and storage project during the heavy rainfall. He pointed out that the regulation and storage project of Longtan West Lake has withstood the test in this heavy rain, fully played the role of flood discharge, water storage and purification, played a significant role in preventing urban waterlogging in a certain range around, and the effluent quality has been significantly improved, which is worth promoting in Beijing.

As an important demonstration project of water storage, waterlogging prevention and water treatment in Beijing, the main purpose of the construction of Longtan West Lake project is to effectively reduce the risk of urban waterlogging in the surrounding areas, reduce the initial rainwater runoff pollution and combined sewage overflow pollution, thoroughly improve the overall water quality of Longtan West Lake, and create a clean, grass-green and beautiful ecological environment for the surrounding residents. The company uses the self innovative "silicon sand honeycomb water storage and purification technology" to transform the traditional "drainage and waterlogging prevention" into "storage, purification and utilization" system for waterlogging control, providing comprehensive support for project planning, design, construction and new product supply. It took 12 months. At present, the main project has been completed and put into use. In flood season, Longtan West Lake project can play the role of sewage interception, storage, purification and waterlogging prevention. In non flood season, the upper water body (East, middle and West Lakes) and the lower honeycomb structure reservoir form a dynamic cycle, which can purify the water quality of the three lakes and realize the resource utilization of rainwater and sewage.

The heavy rainfall is not only a test for the regulation and storage project of West Lake in Longtan, but also an important opportunity for the company to show its construction achievements. During the heavy rainfall, chairman Qin Shengyi led all the staff of Longtan West Lake project department to stick to it day and night, actively assist the competent department in flood prevention and response work, and showed Renchuang people's good technical level and professional quality. Longtan West Lake project has withstood the test, and the construction results have been preliminarily displayed, which has laid a good foundation for the "silicon sand honeycomb water storage and purification technology" and its comprehensive solution to accelerate the promotion in Beijing and even the whole country.
